Effective treatment booster: ESS Selenium Plus

The trace element selenium is involved in a variety of important metabolic processes - especially in... Muscle and energy metabolism . Its antioxidant properties, for example, protect cells from damage.

A lack of selenium is detected, among other things, during a veterinary blood test and manifests itself rather unspecifically, as the trace element is involved in many of the body's own processes: Fatigue, poor performance, lack of fertility and a high susceptibility to infection can indicate an undersupply.
Since selenium is also involved in muscle metabolism, a deficiency can also occur poor muscle development, stiffness, tension and cramps express. In particularly serious cases, horses (especially foals and young horses) have difficulties with overall muscle coordination.
Another clue can be a brittle, dull hair and horn - Selenium and the trace element zinc are mutually dependent, which is why a deficiency can also occur at the same time.

How does ESS Selenium Plus work?

ESS Selenium Plus provides the horse with high doses of selenium and vitamin E to compensate for an existing deficiency and protect against further deficits.
The majority of all horses in Europe show a mild to severe selenium deficiency because the trace element is absorbed through their feed and feed crops and pastures grown in Europe contain very little selenium: From northern to southern Europe, the concentration of selenium in the topsoil decreases sharply. Adequate basic care is therefore rarely guaranteed.

When does my horse need ESS Selenium Plus?

ESS Selenium Plus can be used if there is an existing selenium deficiency and can be fed in low doses as a preventive measure.

Applicable, among other things, to:

  • with selenium deficiency
  • to prevent selenium deficiency
  • if there is a lack of muscle development
  • for stiffness & tension
  • with a tendency to cramps
  • during intensive training
  • in case of fatigue and loss of performance
  • with poor horn and hair quality
  • if you have an existing zinc deficiency
